Fairsky Kennels was established in 1976, breeding pure bred dogs to type, soundness and temperament. Originally we started breeding English pointers, but quickly changed to the Springers after seeing a lovely dog, Aust Ch. Hawkhill Crepello. This was the start of our Springer breeding which were all English lined bred which are Moorcliff, Hawkhill and Mompesson lines.
We also introduced a touch of American, the mother of Aust Ch Fairsky Tales of Terror (Sooty) was produced from Grand Ch Alhambra Oliver Reed and Aust/NZ Ch Shardust Mirage (Imp USA).
Our boy Aust Ch Fairsky Jack the Ripper remains all English Bred lines and now is retired along with Sooty.
We bred our last litter in early 2008 for very good friends of ours Lyn & Doug Ayres, this produced a gorgeous black and white girl. Fortunately, most of our breeding can now be found in the background of most of the English Springer Spaniel breeders in Australia today, this also includes Sweden and Norway where we have exported dogs and semen.
Over the past 21years we have always had a whippet as our pet. Sharon became extremely busy and involved with her son and I of course started to get arthritis, this made grooming Springers a very difficult task and this is why we decided to go into whippets seriously.
We imported American Ch Festiva's Hot As Hell (Imp USA) to give us a starting point for breeding, we also have Calahorra Embellish with thanks to Wendye & Stuart Slatyer and Leisor Dance to the beat from Tony Wills, Donna and Lorraine of Rosiel Kennels.
We look forward to the new direction that Fairsky Kennels has taken.
